Cello und Flöte an einem Baum gelehhnt im Wald

Duo
Flying Tree

Two renowned musicians, two extraordinary instruments - one unique path.

Levan Andria and Stephanie Lepp met in Stuttgart in 2017 and began improvising. Their creative sessions led to the creation of their own compositions – and so began their shared musical journey.

Since then, numerous concerts and festivals have taken them both at home and abroad, captivating a growing audience.

The combination of flute and cello is rare, but all the more fascinating. Stephanie Lepp, with her expressive playing on flute, alto flute, and bansuri (North Indian bamboo flute), and Levan Andria, with his unconventional and adventurous cello playing, engage in an intense artistic dialogue, creating diverse musical landscapes. They love the spontaneous interaction on stage – each concert is a unique experience, characterized by their impressive chamber music interplay. The duo’s original compositions flourish through a dialogue with improvisation, with the pieces repeatedly evoking a strong connection to nature.

The roots of Duo Flying Tree lie in European classical music, while its branches reach into a variety of musical cultures, and the individual artistry of both musicians allows the duo to soar in its own unique creativity.
